I like to do experiments, all in the quest for knowledge and good old fun. I will share some of them, post a few stories and maybe relate some past experiences, some of them could even possibly be true. I'll do my best not to put any boring crap up here. <span lang="">Yeah, you heard me. I said fly shooting.<br />
<br />
Why would I want to shoot a fly? Because they're there. Because they are evil creatures that spread diseases and other nastiness. Because they are ugly. And, mostly, because it's fun to shoot them. Most people enjoy whacking them with fly swatters, but this is even more enjoyable.<br />
<br />
All right, now how do I go about this fly shooting? Well, first you procure a fly shooter, kind of like this one.<br />
</span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span lang=""><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhGKhTflhMJTVVrLz-NlVsbMyOAQHO8dMioGTATxxcStVi7hGd-t4vcs9Ib-Ls-ss0qFdp7ecg_LY2_vbdW0YAZ-zaT891dVs_SuXSa8IlRXhE2XMrvYgyRoJ4qmU2Lt-l5dnsWjurcbN4/s1600/DSCN2490.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhGKhTflhMJTVVrLz-NlVsbMyOAQHO8dMioGTATxxcStVi7hGd-t4vcs9Ib-Ls-ss0qFdp7ecg_LY2_vbdW0YAZ-zaT891dVs_SuXSa8IlRXhE2XMrvYgyRoJ4qmU2Lt-l5dnsWjurcbN4/s1600/DSCN2490.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<span lang="">
<br />
<br />
I got it at Bass Pro shops for about six dollars. Then you put it together, which takes about a minute and a half. When you get it together, it looks something like this.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj25FDgj84Icc6z0x9Dl-k5glcAHkm3v7ajo0bxuvd4Bvb9S03jTAOUMHA26r3p8S-BJltgIdXY1-H4hZqQnGHCsU00X49tRLbb58zUawD2cJH8YVXhc6KpyTGt1lQEAHLO-3mnL8ejhn9t/s1600/DSCN2498.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj25FDgj84Icc6z0x9Dl-k5glcAHkm3v7ajo0bxuvd4Bvb9S03jTAOUMHA26r3p8S-BJltgIdXY1-H4hZqQnGHCsU00X49tRLbb58zUawD2cJH8YVXhc6KpyTGt1lQEAHLO-3mnL8ejhn9t/s1600/DSCN2498.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And also, when you get it together, you push the little white screen onto the pistol looking thingy and there you go. You are ready for action. Locate a fly, aim carefully and pull the trigger. Now you have one dead fly, your mother is overjoyed at the absence of such a creature, and you are ready to look for another beast to slay. Basically, it works like a dart gun, except that it is easier to hit a fly with this.<br />
<br />
For your enjoyment here is a video showing the awesome destructive power of this new wonder weapon. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gerCW4G6rv8">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gerCW4G6rv8</a><br />
<br />
Here are some fly shooting tips in no particular order-<br />
<br />
The string that is provided with your fly shooter will not cut the mustard. It is too damn short, allowing limited range. We cut off the string and tied on a six foot piece of fishing line, giving us much more range and more enjoyment.<br />
<br />
Flies are best killed if they are on a flat surface and you are shooting straight at them. If they are on a flat surface, such as the side of a refrigerator and you try to shoot them at an angle, they will likely buzz on off on their merry way.<br />
<br />
Flies are easily attracted, although your mother may think it is best done outdoors. To ensure the best hunting conditions for you, you need to set her straight real quick and explain exactly how you are helping her by leaving all the windows open , so that your targets may enter the dwelling.My nephew likes to hang a piece of ham on the side of the outdoor trash bin to attract them. And he will wait a few moments, then proceed to pick them off one by one as they make their appearance. And he will also toss a piece of ham onto the pavement and shoot straight down at them as they nibble away. Sometimes this keeps him entertained for an hour or so, which is a good thing.<br />
<br />
Killing flies will develop your shooting skills also. You can hone your breathing technique, your trigger pull, and if you remove the string altogether, you can also practice range estimation, target identification, and learn your trajectory. If you do decide to remove the string, it will take a little effort to go retrieve the little white plastic dart thingy after you pull the trigger. This is when a dog, a little brother or sister, or a wife will come in handy- they can retrieve your ammunition and bring it back to you after each shot.<br />
<br />
Happy hunting!</span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS3NtKeEKO28gj6GHtkbJvKd336U284BlrWLy9gs2189Z_dBF-VzWVzEj20fsthV0Ptk7RNFnhJcqwATiJ2EnGCkhHZNh6W6TnJy6lvyWkyv5HiotwHBAZeXu0Z6ts6BF0iSUnAKefdOKC/s1600/DSCN2393.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS3NtKeEKO28gj6GHtkbJvKd336U284BlrWLy9gs2189Z_dBF-VzWVzEj20fsthV0Ptk7RNFnhJcqwATiJ2EnGCkhHZNh6W6TnJy6lvyWkyv5HiotwHBAZeXu0Z6ts6BF0iSUnAKefdOKC/s1600/DSCN2393.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
A couple of months ago I was at Dollar tree and I got bored, so I started looking at candles. Everyone needs a few candles in case the power goes out or in the event of some other disaster. Don't they? Well, I thought so, so I purchased a couple of candles to experiment with, one tall and one short. The short one had approximately 4 inches of wax inside of it, and the larger one had probably 10 or 12 inches of wax. Here is what they look like. In this picture we have already burned the red candle, it is some kind of a cherry flavored candle, but you cannot smell it at all unless you get your nose right over it. It burned approximately 28 hours.<br />
<br />
But the white one? It surprised me, , burning for approximately 93 hours total. . I was rather impressed by this, especially for the fact that you can buy each one of these for one dollar. That's a lot of candlelight for not much money.<br />
<br />
So if you are a prepper or something like that or if you just want some extra candles hanging around ,, you might want to give these a shot.</div>

<span lang="">
<br />
Have you ever heard of Crystal Head Vodka? If not, then have you ever heard of Dan Aykroyd? He's a little actor type dude, or at least he used to be. He was in the Ghostbusters movies and The Blues Brothers. Now I think he just owns a bar and a brand of vodka. It's called Crystal Head Vodka, and it comes in these really cool looking bottles that look like a glass head. Kinda cool. See?<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg65IovfMWIE_Tp4F7ZQ-aiQJHf062mq0GsPOth1rhog3mYuEzpIxq172tjhDkMK7CXkx-lYngEMBxul8XreoYeOGATqfd_FDo1zKZusHP8XG9KWh4TDUJtWDmsNZfMNQ0yc3kknafAz5d6/s1600/DSCN2307.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg65IovfMWIE_Tp4F7ZQ-aiQJHf062mq0GsPOth1rhog3mYuEzpIxq172tjhDkMK7CXkx-lYngEMBxul8XreoYeOGATqfd_FDo1zKZusHP8XG9KWh4TDUJtWDmsNZfMNQ0yc3kknafAz5d6/s1600/DSCN2307.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I thought that this would look really neat if we made a lamp out of it. In the photo above the bottle is turned sideways and if you look closely you can see that we have drilled a hole in the side of the glass bottle down near the bottom. </div>
<br />
First I ordered a string of 50 white fairy lights to put in to the glass skull. Then I bought a bunch of these red decorative, marble type things that people like to put in vases in order to give them color. After we put the lights into the bottle we filled it up with these red marble type things, hoping to have a really cool looking red skull lamp. And it was kinda cool looking, but it didn't put off very much light and it wasn't really all that red. And we also put black duct tape on his eyes.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here it is all lit up. I guess the red marble things kind of muffled the light.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
So I ordered a string of blue fairy lights, I think there are 40 on this one. We put them into the bottle and presto, we have a cool looking blue lamp. See?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
Future plans call for a string of 40 red fairy lights and we will see how cool that is. They only cost about five dollars, and they come in about six or seven different colors. I guess you could change the color of your lamp to suit the occasion or your mood.</span><br /></div>

I have had my book on Amazon, and for about four months now it has only been available for the Kindle. I have now formatted it and uploaded it to Smash Words. This means that it is available for the iPad, iPhone, Nook, Kobo, Sony e-reader and all of the other types of e-readers. Here is a link to it, if you wish to check it out- <a href="https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/395254">https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/395254</a><br />
<br />
20% of the book is up there for a sample, so you can read quite a bit of it to get a good feel for it before you purchase it.</div>

Here is another bottle lamp that we did. It says 1800 on the lid and I think it is a tequila bottle. How did we make this one? Read on.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
First you take a bottle, very much like this one.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFBdP8rSh60vW6I_t2vzYFem3ZShMbkZJm44CmjWB0ehongeSE2oZ837EFJpgA8-mk3Rx04mwdG5AJtzCCvyybppq6xXl9exbJOMO13LtM5AJubWUZ0rYM2Dlbh-grmN4lYTo0sRJb2fXC/s1600/DSCN2248.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFBdP8rSh60vW6I_t2vzYFem3ZShMbkZJm44CmjWB0ehongeSE2oZ837EFJpgA8-mk3Rx04mwdG5AJtzCCvyybppq6xXl9exbJOMO13LtM5AJubWUZ0rYM2Dlbh-grmN4lYTo0sRJb2fXC/s1600/DSCN2248.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
And then you get your hands on a glob of lights, very much like these green ones. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUE623AVyltOgx3kDZY1Ae4KANDrfVU1H46xGoJFh-iY_3Q_GMGe3vAv-U7HoM0BDebC4H1n5UZzuOdv71l3X9fPfp9szSuaWQTB94WqNLSamcNTS_iXAzivLryGm48jnp9zoUn3D6SLDz/s1600/DSCN2275.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUE623AVyltOgx3kDZY1Ae4KANDrfVU1H46xGoJFh-iY_3Q_GMGe3vAv-U7HoM0BDebC4H1n5UZzuOdv71l3X9fPfp9szSuaWQTB94WqNLSamcNTS_iXAzivLryGm48jnp9zoUn3D6SLDz/s1600/DSCN2275.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
What? They don't look green? Well they are, trust me.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLgU6fpxlf4M93xPyiZ9MCQvxxfIdgzLe1HdJibiGI-m87-BODXNq5oRf_ScDyh_gy1s1Wy6HzGY8CRQUcVgE0rxaxr_LQp9muIqC9hwDEhAdCJoCr0TCT2sT-Lp_5z21P96zlEVlAwFzC/s1600/DSCN2278.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLgU6fpxlf4M93xPyiZ9MCQvxxfIdgzLe1HdJibiGI-m87-BODXNq5oRf_ScDyh_gy1s1Wy6HzGY8CRQUcVgE0rxaxr_LQp9muIqC9hwDEhAdCJoCr0TCT2sT-Lp_5z21P96zlEVlAwFzC/s1600/DSCN2278.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
See? I told you. Okay, now here is the hard part. You take your glob of lights , insert them into the predrilled hole at the bottom of your bottle and presto, there you are. One green bottle lamp.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Those are LED lights and they are pretty bright, especially when you get 100 of them going at once. <br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEe1IrOoMZRKe8T2IYSBJEonJ0xqfkDo4_TUMlgTqTk8bP-adupTPgb410fq6wox6E4TJ4KrlFPkZ2TLGEgCrrwgG_p38x97z8Ngb3xYnpQ3q3x_Uejh309LELV_L3AUNIhPh2NoEt_-k7/s1600/DSCN2245.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEe1IrOoMZRKe8T2IYSBJEonJ0xqfkDo4_TUMlgTqTk8bP-adupTPgb410fq6wox6E4TJ4KrlFPkZ2TLGEgCrrwgG_p38x97z8Ngb3xYnpQ3q3x_Uejh309LELV_L3AUNIhPh2NoEt_-k7/s320/DSCN2245.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Guess what this is? If you guessed liquor bottle, then you would be correct. But it is also a lamp. Or you could call it a light. Or a light emitting device. Hell, I guess you could call it whatever you want, but it will end up emitting light.<br />
<br />
<br />
See?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBo76HffZlOVerUDQzjBH8igE_9HiKyMiDGr7oLhxsTH-hwzmjYgfFUgqO_CjgbSlNo6Hkn97ygGzzLpEQo5deu63QUGfLddND7kBKlvEDZ78pOfWToLqicZUPx4fYOC9Q6MA7qvhjehTV/s1600/DSCN2259.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBo76HffZlOVerUDQzjBH8igE_9HiKyMiDGr7oLhxsTH-hwzmjYgfFUgqO_CjgbSlNo6Hkn97ygGzzLpEQo5deu63QUGfLddND7kBKlvEDZ78pOfWToLqicZUPx4fYOC9Q6MA7qvhjehTV/s320/DSCN2259.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Now, how did we go about constructing such a device? Read on.<br />
<br />
Obviously the first thing you will need is a bottle of some type. Coke bottle, beer bottle, liquor bottle, baby bottle, perfume bottle, whatever. Lots of liquor bottles have unique shapes and designs and end up looking pretty neat. <br />
<br />
<br />
The second thing you need is some type of light to stick inside your bottle. This is what we're going to use, a rope light. See? <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvQch1Z8jN-PABt1HZ0bKOiR65LIwu97ggYY42eL8kVKnLb4GJVOq4QIBYdUO2MJBhCmK_6fh_Zjkb5Z_fJ8Mj0IisBr7ZWa3TaSeiL-NhbS9pbG3LHSpdgOJmnJjVzpCVZrUI-w2W3Z49/s1600/DSCN2256.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvQch1Z8jN-PABt1HZ0bKOiR65LIwu97ggYY42eL8kVKnLb4GJVOq4QIBYdUO2MJBhCmK_6fh_Zjkb5Z_fJ8Mj0IisBr7ZWa3TaSeiL-NhbS9pbG3LHSpdgOJmnJjVzpCVZrUI-w2W3Z49/s320/DSCN2256.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And we wanted our bottle light to look cool, so we got a blue rope light. Actally we wanted it to be super cool,</div>
<span lang=""></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span lang="">so we got a long blue rope light, a 16 footer. See? Doesn't it look supercool? </span></div>
<span lang="">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdwXKNrYHvVAJ5Z5mokGdriGP0l-p6Vr5MEKLzgTuMqZ8IZ8YF2f6bEMnlI14EeFS2yILTgSRjCxy-E4h6So3jhRDVes1gAg6BKEvZhe5rtQX4ysIafwVtKJKgL4qrDQGgtU40lyyUiTGr/s1600/DSCN2255.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdwXKNrYHvVAJ5Z5mokGdriGP0l-p6Vr5MEKLzgTuMqZ8IZ8YF2f6bEMnlI14EeFS2yILTgSRjCxy-E4h6So3jhRDVes1gAg6BKEvZhe5rtQX4ysIafwVtKJKgL4qrDQGgtU40lyyUiTGr/s320/DSCN2255.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Okay, now that you have your light, shove your light into the bottle. Hmmm, how am I supposed to go about that, you may be wondering. Well, you need a hole at the bottom of your bottle so that you can push the light into. Kind of like this one.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpWlIzYykz_obc9NbXW3xaBRePMKSX80_j32cQ53diJv5kheSVNodXtKaeuv-HJxerrPW-Uqd-WZz4AeUlJSBz-ZK6nOAP4zeHqoRkrQqikFs7r5QClXnq2jqgfs92cK7p8Sf2S_LHwyDU/s1600/DSCN2252.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpWlIzYykz_obc9NbXW3xaBRePMKSX80_j32cQ53diJv5kheSVNodXtKaeuv-HJxerrPW-Uqd-WZz4AeUlJSBz-ZK6nOAP4zeHqoRkrQqikFs7r5QClXnq2jqgfs92cK7p8Sf2S_LHwyDU/s320/DSCN2252.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Okay, and just how am I supposed to make this hole? Well, there are several ways to make holes in bottles, and my favorite way is to use a high velocity bullet, but you can also use a handy dandy electric drill. You do have a handy-dandy electric drill, don't you? Once you have procured your drill, you can do it the way that they show in this video. (And this video also shows different designs and things on their bottle lamps.) <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDCrgQjw72o">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDCrgQjw72o</a><br />
<br />
Now that you have your hole, start pushing the lights into it. In our case, we had a 16 foot rope light and I think the liquor bottle was a half-gallon one. Have you ever tried to shove a 16 foot rope light into a small, constricted, half-gallon sized place that was not designed for a 16 foot rope light? Well if you have, you might know what I am about to say next. If you haven't, let me just say that it involves cursing, effort, cursing, sweat, cursing, blood, cursing, tears, a lot of time, and perhaps some cursing. And what do you get in the end? Two hours later you end up with a half-gallon sized liquor bottle that still has a foot and a half of rope light protruding from it, and when you plug it in to see if the rope light still works after you have been using a dowel rod to help you shove and push it into a bottle, you find that it does not work. All of your effort has now been negated. You have broken your rope light.<br />
<br />
There is a lesson to be learned here. Do Not Break Your Rope Light! Not only will you be out $15 for the light, but you may very well have to use a sorry looking, substitute light in its place because your nephew is the impatient sort and wants to take the bottle light home with him right then. Rope lights are not nearly as tough as they may at first seem.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoOSyen9lKJ6aoNlvyfnHXGxiMS4AUJ4Be8MU3EpXUlJcO-vke7ysX4ODWMihZ9IWBFFVb8h94lZGeXowzWz9-E0Ah_Am_7KwpeY_FYnOOPlv-rqrG1VvdJ5vK0wrh1KAgHMQ8gfgVgDOi/s1600/DSCN2269.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoOSyen9lKJ6aoNlvyfnHXGxiMS4AUJ4Be8MU3EpXUlJcO-vke7ysX4ODWMihZ9IWBFFVb8h94lZGeXowzWz9-E0Ah_Am_7KwpeY_FYnOOPlv-rqrG1VvdJ5vK0wrh1KAgHMQ8gfgVgDOi/s320/DSCN2269.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
So we used different lights, a string of Christmas tree lights. It is the kind that has a plug on both ends so that you can plug another string into it. Ordinarily it would not have fit into the hole, but we had a three-quarter inch hole to work with and by carefully trimming off bits and pieces of the plug on one end of the string of lights, we were able to persuade the lights into the bottle.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
And this is what we ended up with. It didn't look nearly as cool as it would have with a 16 foot long blue rope light, but it will work and nephew was happy. There are all kinds of neat looking bottles out there and there are all kinds of neat looking lights out there. Do some experimenting and see what you can come up with.</span><br />

Do you know any girls like this? Girls that would be perfectly happy getting a gun mug, brick of 22 ammo, a couple of 25 round Ruger magazines and a pair of electronic earmuffs for Christmas? If you don't know any girls like this, keep looking. They are rather scarce, some might even go so far as to say they are an endangered species, but they do exist.</span><br />

BDhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13608563164495997311noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1452100082783738967.post-78969680362748304352013-12-14T11:00:00.001-08:002013-12-14T11:00:15.785-08:00Heat Your Room for Almost Free!<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Know what this is? No, it is not a flowerpot. Well, technically I suppose it is a flowerpot, but for the sake of this post, it is a heater. A candle powered room heater specifically. Want to make one? Here's how. This is what you will need. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhG1_ceVFu8mITZMWvvm98mvQns5viJHChBP-dA8Cbuc_4g1QPFprUxu__1q7wZTEC95wXLauHwaSuelK1u5IgXlR1tZ83WwRGkWu5e4Spvav0z-PI9z4Of5s4H0MQ6Iih9aLPGk-_o-vkM/s1600/DSCN2149.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhG1_ceVFu8mITZMWvvm98mvQns5viJHChBP-dA8Cbuc_4g1QPFprUxu__1q7wZTEC95wXLauHwaSuelK1u5IgXlR1tZ83WwRGkWu5e4Spvav0z-PI9z4Of5s4H0MQ6Iih9aLPGk-_o-vkM/s320/DSCN2149.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Two flowerpots, a bolt, a couple of nuts and a candle or three. You may also need a couple of washers, although they are not shown in this photo. And that is it. Do not use glazed flowerpots, just plain clay ones.<br />
<br />
The construction of this heater is a long and difficult process, consisting of the following:<br />
<br />
1. Take your bolt, put a washer on it , and insert it from the bottom of the larger flowerpot .<br />
<br />
2. Put a washer on the inside of the bolt, place a nut on it, and tighten it finger tight.<br />
<br />
3. Place the smaller flowerpot onto the bolt, place another washer on the bolt, place a nut on the bolt and tighten it finger tight. <br />
<br />
Presto! You are done. You have just constructed your very own , high-tech room heater. It should look something like this - <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk6jLRL3jz9RwzB6k6fsMdu0zLW_VF62E3s2DPgeLvdUzot2YEqAcc3IeocQPmj8qFEnEvGvB2hJ2WOxaLEzFtAOLTVVny85iPI_ScSQ3Zzpq784ebbpTITNULRAn6Zx0mzsppwAI-Z8Iw/s1600/DSCN2151.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk6jLRL3jz9RwzB6k6fsMdu0zLW_VF62E3s2DPgeLvdUzot2YEqAcc3IeocQPmj8qFEnEvGvB2hJ2WOxaLEzFtAOLTVVny85iPI_ScSQ3Zzpq784ebbpTITNULRAn6Zx0mzsppwAI-Z8Iw/s320/DSCN2151.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
To go along with your superduper hi tech room heater, here are some high-tech instructions for using it-<br />
<br />
Take your superduper high tech room heater- flowerpot thingy and place it upside down on a couple of supports, kind of like this-<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiH9d5BODfLE_ijpFmB-W-uKZ0hKKSej7owPtsgjseCrG8qbie4zYqGPgSVm6MV9CKHTONzfyxulOiTjS2eseoNpxtBNDKPAKldPu7W6iiXNSS2QvsjSGCW9INmSRlMUY2rkIqSg5ulsDZp/s1600/DSCN2154.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiH9d5BODfLE_ijpFmB-W-uKZ0hKKSej7owPtsgjseCrG8qbie4zYqGPgSVm6MV9CKHTONzfyxulOiTjS2eseoNpxtBNDKPAKldPu7W6iiXNSS2QvsjSGCW9INmSRlMUY2rkIqSg5ulsDZp/s320/DSCN2154.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Then you can also take your candle and light it as shown in the photo. And there you have it, your heater is now working. In the picture above you may notice that we have used boards to raise the flowerpot up off the ground in order to make room for the candle and to allow it to get some air. This is not ideal, and you should use something nonflammable. to hold the flowerpot up. <br />
<br />
<br />
It may take 30 minutes or so before your flowerpot gets hot and begins putting off heat. And you also may want to put more candles underneath it in order to make it work faster. We did some scientific testing to determine how much heat it was putting off.<br />

<br />
<br />
See this picture here, with the plastic thermometer sitting directly on top of the flowerpot? Do not do this! The bolt gets hotter than anything else, and this thermometer was leaning against it. After a few minutes it melted the back of the thermometer, requiring a different scientific testing procedure. So what we did was to take a couple of small pieces of wood and put them on top of the flowerpot, then we lay the thermometer down on top of these pieces of wood. The thermometer was elevated probably an inch above the flowerpot and after an hour or so it registered about 115°. Even after two or three hours, it never got hotter than that. <br />
<br />
So, does it work?<br />
<br />
Well yes, It does put off heat, but not a great deal of it. It works off the radiant heating principle, and it does take a little while. If you have a small room in your house that is not heated or if you have a room that is not heated well enough, this may do the job. Or if you scattered two or three of them around the room, it should work even better. Candles are cheap , and so are flowerpots. This entire experiment cost maybe five dollars. <br />
<br />
Warning! Using open flame like this is not for idiots. If you do not feel qualified to do something like this without running the risk of burning down your house, don't even think about it. If you do not have enough common sense and are too stupid to carry out something like this safely, then don't blame me if you burn something that didn't need burned. <br />
<br />
<br />
Here is a Short video that shows how to make one of these-<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwElWD_qqCc">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwElWD_qqCc</a><br />
<br />
The guy in the video got a lot better results than I did, but I kind of suspect that he was reading the temperature off of the bolt. It gets hotter than anything else. But then again, maybe I should have made a bigger one to start with. </div>

Yes, let's do so. It's been a while since we have done an experiment, so we shall. But these are not your ordinary, garden-variety fire starters. These are ultra modern, high-tech, man-made and mass-produced fire starters. See?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
Here we have from left to right, Cheese Puffs, Tostitos, barbecue potato chips, and Fritos scoops. You may have seen a survival show on television that showed how Fritos are burnable. You may have heard whispers and rumors of the same. You may have not, and are now scratching your head and asking yourself if such a thing is indeed possible. You may not care at all and have already switched channels. If you do care, read on.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgb0fE1rAnqKmDYrX0DguReLWOEDznrfIzcocJnXS75JviKb218H7OWpB8ZHr5csXZDNMYV2vU2ooQsrDVLVk5mAdhDVp0YudkO82JQElSvLwN3XvU5LWMV53T-y6o0yQHSBJhuPrRe1m8L/s1600/DSCN2137.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgb0fE1rAnqKmDYrX0DguReLWOEDznrfIzcocJnXS75JviKb218H7OWpB8ZHr5csXZDNMYV2vU2ooQsrDVLVk5mAdhDVp0YudkO82JQElSvLwN3XvU5LWMV53T-y6o0yQHSBJhuPrRe1m8L/s320/DSCN2137.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here we are in our scientific testing laboratory, with our guinea pigs all laid out in a row in the same order. From left to right we have a Cheese Puff, a Tostito, a barbecue potato chip, and a Frito Scoop. All of our test subjects appeared to be in good working order and eager for the testing to begin.<br />
<br />
All right. Let's light them up! <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgviTZC-ikC8Ynj0CZu894GINzKqMOw5lfzCs3V6YIourmTi0UddpdgJUDDSovl9jtIzStG4iK0Rb3caNUCgzcwNZbJ5z1ByBwb4GOMr947yzJhh1kkeRQpakZhApqMGnQpJtsV027kdL1T/s1600/DSCN2138.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgviTZC-ikC8Ynj0CZu894GINzKqMOw5lfzCs3V6YIourmTi0UddpdgJUDDSovl9jtIzStG4iK0Rb3caNUCgzcwNZbJ5z1ByBwb4GOMr947yzJhh1kkeRQpakZhApqMGnQpJtsV027kdL1T/s320/DSCN2138.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As you can see in this photo, most of the test subjects are now producing flame, some more than others. The cheese puff proved to be a bit obstinate and was difficult to light. And once ignited, it did not stay that way for more than 10 or 15 seconds at a time. The Tostito seems to be burning happily away, the potato chip a bit less so, and the Frito is putting off a cheerful amount of light. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBUXdZGKh9sPq0xJfiyauyvkDh_tYXyrTFOx-HGjEngDAHnEYi3jAhlfwrQt6aN5QhrMWLQ3Cbwd3q-yYUl74PMqLFUjAzO4BrQbGQidxIW4_lUBQUKQSvoAE2zzKjl56M07NhRmVa6LUF/s1600/DSCN2141.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBUXdZGKh9sPq0xJfiyauyvkDh_tYXyrTFOx-HGjEngDAHnEYi3jAhlfwrQt6aN5QhrMWLQ3Cbwd3q-yYUl74PMqLFUjAzO4BrQbGQidxIW4_lUBQUKQSvoAE2zzKjl56M07NhRmVa6LUF/s320/DSCN2141.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
A couple of minutes into the experiment, tragedy struck. As you can see in this photo, the Tostito has nearly extinguished itself as has the potato chip. They were not completely used up, they just went out. The Cheese Puff is still a fire, but only because we had reignited it multiple times. The Frito continues to blaze away, happy as can be.<br />
<br />
We reignited the Tostito and it burned for another minute or so. We lit the other side of the potato chip and it also burned for a little bit. The Frito continued to burn, all by itself. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpDe7lai1PalGGei-Gtd2P3HYiNagnf02D1DZw-l5mD9OvzjqiEpybySemh_pIuspEQv12S4XPSLlFqCk_SLpXe6QBQyxoumIFL8dCTvyOOGPzrB9r9cpoaAogHCs7vqqpQsRelKDNR9jV/s1600/DSCN2142.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpDe7lai1PalGGei-Gtd2P3HYiNagnf02D1DZw-l5mD9OvzjqiEpybySemh_pIuspEQv12S4XPSLlFqCk_SLpXe6QBQyxoumIFL8dCTvyOOGPzrB9r9cpoaAogHCs7vqqpQsRelKDNR9jV/s320/DSCN2142.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Everyone likes to see the aftermath of scientific tests, so for your entertainment here is a blurry photo of the charred carcasses of the test subjects. <br />
<br />
Now that the testing procedures are complete, what have we learned from this little experiment? <br />
<br />
1. Cheese Puffs do not make good fire starters and are best used for their intended purposes . <br />
<br />
2.Tostitos make for a fairly good firestarter, as long as you give them the proper attention. <br />
<br />
3. Barbecue potato chips do not make particularly good fire starters, but they do happen to be quite tasty. <br />
<br />
4. Fritos scoops are useful little creatures, serving multiple purposes. Not only may you ingest them just as they are, you may also scoop up delicious tidbits inside them before popping them into your mouth, and if you must, they make a good firestarter. They light easily and the first one burned for approximately 4 minutes. This was considered an impressive feat, so the experiment was conducted again and this time it lasted for three minutes.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Folks the lesson here is that if you need a fire, try burning your food. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
This very well could be it. Made by Blackfire, it's called the Clamp Light. And it happens to be very cleverly named, mainly because you can clamp this little sucker just about anywhere. And just where might I want to clamp it, you may be asking yourself? Well, you can clamp it onto a chair, kind of like this-<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEig-qvQJ2dcbqFIK7WspfCeV6wrDK73eNPsGAO8stwHKi4dJdQ3n98HDstu4W3jVsv4UTZhIj3EY5y4LR-WkJ-SX2nmlMK2gu-Q_I6Iqphf_tVMstyT_X2M43ofH_tyI7969P8OQ7PpaQ7g/s1600/DSCN2009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEig-qvQJ2dcbqFIK7WspfCeV6wrDK73eNPsGAO8stwHKi4dJdQ3n98HDstu4W3jVsv4UTZhIj3EY5y4LR-WkJ-SX2nmlMK2gu-Q_I6Iqphf_tVMstyT_X2M43ofH_tyI7969P8OQ7PpaQ7g/s320/DSCN2009.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
You can clamp it onto a gate, like this-<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRf1fX9cVGTRyq0x-Kl0HMaR50qRPEK0Uj-TH_zOZ3kd-dfMtcFXQF89wfccoc-4fMTE_PoiDfw0-0DNyjPS5mN36tJq2N1i8ThzyVXopqYs33WGMBLI5OpeJUMcW06wPxeG3syfKHuIFZ/s1600/DSCN1956.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRf1fX9cVGTRyq0x-Kl0HMaR50qRPEK0Uj-TH_zOZ3kd-dfMtcFXQF89wfccoc-4fMTE_PoiDfw0-0DNyjPS5mN36tJq2N1i8ThzyVXopqYs33WGMBLI5OpeJUMcW06wPxeG3syfKHuIFZ/s320/DSCN1956.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
You can clamp it onto a cabinet, a door, a curtain, a tree branch or a ladder. Hell, you could probably clamp it onto a Kitty cat or even your wife's foot, as long as you get them drunk or let them fall asleep before you make the attempt. <br />
<br />
Here it is clamped onto a kitchen cabinet, lighting up the area beneath the sink. Woud that not come in handy for plumbing jobs? <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0V4PSprh7U1vqOJRDYny3hHY0jpcIZoUIQ6n5WESihMCImykCUCx4dqf2y86djogkiOHxE5g1fQ3uLbXx9HpBgepfHpLGm9b7BxzPSNUDl0Z8x1EOzgDNjYIFS9WEM4fq2NMV9JKwpd1X/s1600/DSCN2037.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0V4PSprh7U1vqOJRDYny3hHY0jpcIZoUIQ6n5WESihMCImykCUCx4dqf2y86djogkiOHxE5g1fQ3uLbXx9HpBgepfHpLGm9b7BxzPSNUDl0Z8x1EOzgDNjYIFS9WEM4fq2NMV9JKwpd1X/s320/DSCN2037.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And it even stands up, like this-<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGuJCz5uV82FB_tTUc_Qy6gI8qL-t-1FpipP37m_h9oEh6dAE_8q4JPuLZz9CKpsp3ZPDZLHQA4ysEx8IcyQgjMcfdnVIUzDSONk42dya9sXz5XOXchQKwnkugySLmHgbfhB4hSvA43aWy/s1600/DSCN2014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGuJCz5uV82FB_tTUc_Qy6gI8qL-t-1FpipP37m_h9oEh6dAE_8q4JPuLZz9CKpsp3ZPDZLHQA4ysEx8IcyQgjMcfdnVIUzDSONk42dya9sXz5XOXchQKwnkugySLmHgbfhB4hSvA43aWy/s320/DSCN2014.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And this-<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeubzYj4_oODhBxuC0iAEhXVsFnxvzZaG5L5Drzn3smI4prOXKt6ICtLbzPxBVlmhRG-HgJ2GJ8axzabBT5-7WVQBT0t2D78F5MKjZucPJdhues9XJG0ORgJ9xWbPCUkefgH00RyVxJr4P/s1600/DSCN2032.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeubzYj4_oODhBxuC0iAEhXVsFnxvzZaG5L5Drzn3smI4prOXKt6ICtLbzPxBVlmhRG-HgJ2GJ8axzabBT5-7WVQBT0t2D78F5MKjZucPJdhues9XJG0ORgJ9xWbPCUkefgH00RyVxJr4P/s320/DSCN2032.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
But wait, there's more. It has a swivel head that is able to swivel in 2 different directions.<br />
<span lang=""><br />
It can swivel up and down, and at the same time, you can twist it sideways. You can pretty much point it in any direction that you wish.</span><br />
<br />
You can put this thing just about anywhere and point it just about everywhere that might need to be lit up.<br />
<br />
Pretty handy dandy, if you ask me. The only flashlight I can think of that might be more versatile is a headlamp, but with those you always have to be looking at the thing you are lighting up. This flashlight might even be better than a headlamp.<br />
<br />
It uses 3 AAA batteries , a Cree led and it puts out 100 lumens, fairly bright for just an average around the house flashlight. And it's supposed to put out 7 hours of maximum light, then gradually fade away. We've had it for a year or so and used it a fair amount and it is still ticking along. I would recommend it. And if there is a handyman type in your life, he would probably benefit from having one of these. Christmas is coming up you know, maybe you should get him one. Better yet, get him a gun. Even better than that, get him both.<br />
<br />
<br />
Here is a little video that shows what all you can do with one of these. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBj6ECA3q5k">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBj6ECA3q5k</a><br />
<br />
<br />
And no, I have nothing to do with this company or product. Just trying to relay some information that might make your life a little easier. </div>

The Sheriff was looking a little lonely. He needed a companion. A mate. Some things are just like that, they need something else to complete them, to make them whole. Some things just go together, like peas and carrots, sunshine and bikinis, spring break and beer, boys and girls. They just belong together and when they are separate, it just don't look right. So I got online and started searching for a companion for the Sheriff. This is the prettiest mate that I could find.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgb3oW0HW3vJpM9ifUZzCCyM0ZieiiU1-JQgWKyNpXrGjwW_dgTZpQH7zzDtQ_nitSO1mC8VSzwSLOdbhONvYFz_TxRb6rYqPPpfYoVaowKBzm4rK2jHfYpHYjQjSgNwIBAymHnfEn2NsKO/s1600/DSCN1936.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgb3oW0HW3vJpM9ifUZzCCyM0ZieiiU1-JQgWKyNpXrGjwW_dgTZpQH7zzDtQ_nitSO1mC8VSzwSLOdbhONvYFz_TxRb6rYqPPpfYoVaowKBzm4rK2jHfYpHYjQjSgNwIBAymHnfEn2NsKO/s320/DSCN1936.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
It's a necklace holster, designed to be worn around the neck. That's why it's called a necklace holster. I found it on eBay by a seller named joe'scustomleather. And it's a nice little holster. Made of good materials, the workmanship is good also. It's a fairly simple little holster, put your pistol in it, and snap it down and it is going to stay put.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In case you have forgotten, here is what the North American arms Sheriff looks like. Doesn't he look rather pitiful and sort of lonely, lying there all by himself? Let's see what we can do to make him happy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhu_Kbri8BSixguydBOEFsVsarkyGeJuE_eh-Q43p-jMre86ZKkmgNVQkzKZ77SCbkb4kivgP5EVSJZL7_4UrbzWJ61PKuxMSc2hx5AkvMEfl0kmvNWexHAIH2y-1lrH3lPAOx2E3bihtTP/s1600/DSCN1942.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhu_Kbri8BSixguydBOEFsVsarkyGeJuE_eh-Q43p-jMre86ZKkmgNVQkzKZ77SCbkb4kivgP5EVSJZL7_4UrbzWJ61PKuxMSc2hx5AkvMEfl0kmvNWexHAIH2y-1lrH3lPAOx2E3bihtTP/s320/DSCN1942.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There. Doesn't he look happier now? The gun fits in the holster tightly, you have to really shove it into the holster in order to snap it down. . This is good, because it will probably loosen up slightly as it breaks in. Snug as a bug in his new home, he is not coming out of there, not unless someone unsnaps him and pulls him out.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
But now I'm wondering........ what if you were out in the woods walking around, and you stumbled upon something that needed to be shot and you shot it 5 times. What then? You would have an empty gun and be out in the deep, dark woods defenseless? What if there were some way to carry some ammo with you? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFTIEHC6Q-cVwFGec12ipK8_zzBNM3-W1ugTyMUVsPVfP78JgEJjwH7lVGCWP7fp0EBSlle3Yx_8HAJlX4yBfAaYvrgAqiDcHqprtWQAgBHBiTJuaPAr3Qo5kx9t8BNUssyzJ_wdpooRiN/s1600/DSCN1938.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFTIEHC6Q-cVwFGec12ipK8_zzBNM3-W1ugTyMUVsPVfP78JgEJjwH7lVGCWP7fp0EBSlle3Yx_8HAJlX4yBfAaYvrgAqiDcHqprtWQAgBHBiTJuaPAr3Qo5kx9t8BNUssyzJ_wdpooRiN/s320/DSCN1938.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Something like this perhaps? Yes, something like that. It came from eBay also, a tiny leather bag. Did anyone ever tell you that there are one or 2 neat things to be found on eBay? Did anyone ever tell you that you can find anything in the world on eBay? Well, if they didn't, you can.. This seems to be a nice little match with the revolver and the holster.. We punched a hole in it so that we can hang it on the necklace. </div>

Here's what it looks like with all 3 of them together.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
North American arms Sheriff, holster by joescustomleather, and a small ammo pouch. This is what it looks like hanging on your chest. and it's in a pretty handy location, I think. What else could you need? Add a small pocket knife and a fire steel in the ammo pouch and you are good to go. The Sheriff is happy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. The ammo pouch will hold over 50 rounds, probably 75 or so, but I certainly wouldn't want that much weight hanging around my neck, that would get noticeable after a while. so we have about 20 rounds in it.. Hopefully that will be enough to enable us to shoot. and kill anything that. needs to be shot with a 22. </div>

Like I said, it is a Western e-book. I signed up for the Kindle Select Program and that means that Amazon has it exclusively for three months. After that I can upload it to Smash Words and they will make it available at Barnes & Noble, , iTunes,, the Sony store, and a few others, I think. <br />
.There is not just a whole lot of action until about chapter 5, that's when it really get started.. But check it out if you wish., and if you read it and like it, please leave a review. </div>

Yes I have. Don't ask me how it happened, or why or anything else, but I have a novel that I'm getting ready to publish on Amazon as an e-book. It is a Western, set in 1875 and it will be the very first thing I have ever published. So I hope it goes well. Let me tell you, though, formatting something to put on Amazon or Smash Words is a royal pain. I've been working on it on and off for two weeks now, and I think it's finally ready. Let's keep our fingers crossed.</div>

One of my relatives purchased a Mossberg 500 and he did not like the stock that was on it. He wanted it to be more tacticool. So he got to looking around on the Internet and found a stock that he liked. It is made by Phoenix Technology and it is cool. Just how cool is it?<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje35nPg164f3Sz3xBMlw2RWIlJ_I1g5vhwE3QCP3Lx2l8cnbBiPTjp5pbDkf0vcB-KdmMHJVTufPiJyY4B7cRudzgV0GfBZ4dujTqFZlsaia9_56s4PJhSLWQRPUc9mPfdzmdN-fQBiPlt/s1600/DSCN1734.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEje35nPg164f3Sz3xBMlw2RWIlJ_I1g5vhwE3QCP3Lx2l8cnbBiPTjp5pbDkf0vcB-KdmMHJVTufPiJyY4B7cRudzgV0GfBZ4dujTqFZlsaia9_56s4PJhSLWQRPUc9mPfdzmdN-fQBiPlt/s320/DSCN1734.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
It is this cool. Not only does he like its looks, he likes the fact that it stores extra ammo, and he also likes the fact that it has a built-in recoil reduction system. It has a spring inside and when you fire the gun, the spring flexes and absorbs some of the recoil. He told me that he figured it reduced the recoil by maybe 10 or 15%, and he hopes that it works even a little better after it gets broken in, maybe a couple of hundred rounds through it.<br />
<br />
Here is a video of another guy that has one, he talks about the recoil reducing capability.<br />
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JkySFE8_s0">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JkySFE8_s0</a><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv2TuvaKrE2ro3WO68tPSgCPWLgOASQuOiHkfUgXLXlR9CEY76rRiStH9OKhJ0fkm2MtblxdOB02v2YKphLTvZnG3uuN7S3KTV-EI8v9sSDTpQIrnFRioZ-SF9BbIRnu2zXGaSqVFaiRzF/s1600/DSCN1736.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgv2TuvaKrE2ro3WO68tPSgCPWLgOASQuOiHkfUgXLXlR9CEY76rRiStH9OKhJ0fkm2MtblxdOB02v2YKphLTvZnG3uuN7S3KTV-EI8v9sSDTpQIrnFRioZ-SF9BbIRnu2zXGaSqVFaiRzF/s320/DSCN1736.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These two photos will further demonstrate its coolness. . Not only is it cool looking and it reduces recoil in a cool way, it is so cool that it is adjustable. In this picture the stock is extended all the way out.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghKH31HKhqAifW_vsUq11q6rL6IikFUiBtyHP7RxjsRU2p70oe6Ixb-ND_nze4pa5tWwRnq72lQSmhn_OQPsNVg2anDdQcwKWOTLCvRpOOxyfOVCDrHe-BrYS-bckoCQMaNV_4kNcLy87O/s1600/DSCN1737.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghKH31HKhqAifW_vsUq11q6rL6IikFUiBtyHP7RxjsRU2p70oe6Ixb-ND_nze4pa5tWwRnq72lQSmhn_OQPsNVg2anDdQcwKWOTLCvRpOOxyfOVCDrHe-BrYS-bckoCQMaNV_4kNcLy87O/s320/DSCN1737.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And in this photo the stock is collapsed as far as it will go. How cool is that? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Not only does it look cool, it acts cool, and is adjustable so that people of differing arm lengths can shoot it and look cool, it is so cool that you can remove the stock and have only the pistol grip to hang onto as you shoot. Of course, you will not hit anything shooting it like that, but who cares? You will look so cool shooting it that if there is a bad guy in the area, he will immediately toss his weapon to the ground, begin weeping and beg you to take him to jail. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDZQ7xhXo6W6Ju2FtjhOfCOC39V-FdL58rIy_bqaTVs3EjFBOc5HCsvKn8TlmbXVVJKgYoZ8acb70O9FYhuycucxmaehH8_1hXdAHNiEvuin3h_fli6f9_bYnXSITVath0NT6ip4bGRFUM/s1600/DSCN1738.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDZQ7xhXo6W6Ju2FtjhOfCOC39V-FdL58rIy_bqaTVs3EjFBOc5HCsvKn8TlmbXVVJKgYoZ8acb70O9FYhuycucxmaehH8_1hXdAHNiEvuin3h_fli6f9_bYnXSITVath0NT6ip4bGRFUM/s320/DSCN1738.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is one more photo, just to overwhelm you with the coolness of the entire gun. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It cost him around $80 or so, it installed easily and it fits well. I watched him put 50 rounds or so through it and it seems to work just fine. He is a happy camper and is ready to hang out with all of the utmost tacticoolest mall ninjas. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
</div>

So I was looking around on YouTube the other day and I came across something I thought was interesting. I saw a guy using glow-in-the-dark powder and epoxy to make a knife handle. I got started thinking and before you know it, I was on eBay ordering glow-in-the-dark powder. We mixed it up and put it to good use and here is our first project.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDYmIu3HJUy4VXSFbl9Yhw4wOjiG_qdQqXeGzG3V2q9I9VUr1jEnAQbEsXvuRaCdMqCfDjab5W_0Eb-tQEAAwFh-OrbHKLr3700k-k0N2HoOr7bvGRoUHunsuWX5ZJ1IEF4pmK9rUh_Dso/s1600/DSCN1672.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDYmIu3HJUy4VXSFbl9Yhw4wOjiG_qdQqXeGzG3V2q9I9VUr1jEnAQbEsXvuRaCdMqCfDjab5W_0Eb-tQEAAwFh-OrbHKLr3700k-k0N2HoOr7bvGRoUHunsuWX5ZJ1IEF4pmK9rUh_Dso/s320/DSCN1672.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Can you tell what it is? It is a 38 special case filled with glow-in-the-dark epoxy. I know that is a little lopsided looking, but that is because we did not possess a 38 caliber bullet mold. Therefore we could not manufacture a precise, well fitted, perfect looking epoxy bullet to put in the case. We had to make the bullet oversized and then grind it down on the sander to resemble a real bullet. It looks fairly good, I think. And we also drilled a bunch of holes in to the case so that it would glow even better in the darkness. We added a leather thong so that we could use it as a necklace and we called it good.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizKmjKLex9T0aGkMrNqh5HW8sfOk0oqv09_QzdtS6RO9CZu0173gIEQv_iuhl33DwVLVTm_y8gaHGIsFmAO4vui0y-CNkVKVatcG08840p_jo_UDHi6y3Lwdq_roIxIISWDbI_S3jxUkGF/s1600/DSCN1681.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizKmjKLex9T0aGkMrNqh5HW8sfOk0oqv09_QzdtS6RO9CZu0173gIEQv_iuhl33DwVLVTm_y8gaHGIsFmAO4vui0y-CNkVKVatcG08840p_jo_UDHi6y3Lwdq_roIxIISWDbI_S3jxUkGF/s320/DSCN1681.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's what it looks like after it has been charged up for a couple of minutes with a really powerful flashlight. I think it's pretty cool. And I also think that all of my nieces and nephews are going to like it and we will probably be making more of these. Hopefully with practice they will come out looking even better than this lopsided one.</div>

In these modern times that we live in, most people seem to be entirely too busy. People are either on their cell phones, on their computers, watching TV or driving back and forth to work, family get-togethers, sporting events or something else. Done in moderation, all of these things are good but when it consumes your whole day and evening, something has to give. I fear that people are losing their ability to actually communicate effectively with others. That one-on-one interaction is important and it seems to be all too rare nowadays. This is an unfortunate situation and steps need to be taken to correct this problem. We decided to see what we can do to rectify it.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQRuPlOOJq9KYqYp7N4qy8l5VaHclfhKK0L6DliWUzyn08wcoATcYN55pgfBFI04kSjc1r6VSlHHC3uFSCt7DAhP-6YwmikQMnpJZB9JuZ3tlhoMf-SrFWdhB2uIjNlRZA68n-JSkjWOn7/s1600/DSCN1445.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQRuPlOOJq9KYqYp7N4qy8l5VaHclfhKK0L6DliWUzyn08wcoATcYN55pgfBFI04kSjc1r6VSlHHC3uFSCt7DAhP-6YwmikQMnpJZB9JuZ3tlhoMf-SrFWdhB2uIjNlRZA68n-JSkjWOn7/s320/DSCN1445.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Can anyone tell me what this is? Go on, guess. Then guess again. Think about it for a minute and see if you can figure out what it is. You have seen one of these before, haven't you? Just in case you haven't, I will go ahead and tell you what it is so that you may be enlightened and confused no more.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It is a state-of-the-art, high-tech, communication device. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Huh?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A communication device? Is it some sort of antenna? An extraterrestrial satellite link? A teleportation portal that can beam up Scotty, Capt. Kirk and Lieut. O'Hara ? Because it looks to me like it's just a giant stick with some yellow tubing hanging off of it. What on earth are you talking about it being a communication device? How in the world is it supposed to work?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Well, I'm going to tell you. Do you remember those old TV commercials for long-distance phone service? The commercials that said to reach out and touch someone? That is exactly what this communication device is designed for, to reach out and touch someone. This particular reach-out-and- toucher is located at a lake we frequently go to and it is conveniently placed near the water's edge. This a strategic location carefully chosen to maximize our effective range and it enables us to broadcast our message to the greatest possible audience. </div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Every worthwhile invention in the history of mankind has a name and we call our communication device a SplatCom. It consists of two parts, a frame and a launcher and it works sort of like this. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7ERPfz7tqIJeDWCGXXrwqp3DSHuaanW4-VWUNYLfb-Ii1HRnFbg3y41kw5uIkH6hqrtpGBGzp9gMmDnAiA-QcNw6PqWxIg1OqtV4SvlizYe5Dj_znUlL_RwrQyFE01DwNHf6-yvkiuUZP/s1600/DSCN1435.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHsFg0Gidxkpq3hmW6AVESR6z7BlWQCzVYUKGrw6zoFg4B9vk0CegUMtYKNNsgHDFF9yoY1O0vE30QaO1R8VfBZMogBkQZaRx5oNXb99jtCwKGqmI-XSLQMy32m7SQx0sAuUXO3jzwWfcO/s1600/DSCN1437.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHsFg0Gidxkpq3hmW6AVESR6z7BlWQCzVYUKGrw6zoFg4B9vk0CegUMtYKNNsgHDFF9yoY1O0vE30QaO1R8VfBZMogBkQZaRx5oNXb99jtCwKGqmI-XSLQMy32m7SQx0sAuUXO3jzwWfcO/s320/DSCN1437.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here we have a communication specialist demonstrating the usage of our device. It is a simple device really, operating on long known principles of physics. Although a college degree will be helpful, and a masters or a doctorate is even more beneficial, it is not mandatory if you wish to learn how to operate this machine. With patience and careful instruction, even the most intellectually challenged can be trained to communicate with it effectively .</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So just how does it work? First you place a water balloon, a rock, an ostrich egg, an apple, a horse turd, a squirrel, your neighbors cat, or some other suitable projectile into the black pouch of our device. Then you pull back on the launcher, aim it at your target audience and release. Simple as that.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hmmmm. That is all well and good I suppose but ............................. how do you consider this communication? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What? Are you daft? Perhaps a better question would be, how is this not communication? We can reach out to anyone in the immediate vicinity and get our point across. Very quickly, I might add. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If our area were to be invaded by a horde of fishing boats, a couple of projectiles launched across their bow would let them know immediately that they need to vacate the premises and find a different place to fish. Neighbors are easily kept at bay, giving us plenty of room to spread out our stuff along the beach. Stray dogs are no problem, no match at all for a high velocity projectile of any kind. After one shot they will learn that they need to leave you alone. But the reason the SplatCom was invented in the first place, the main reason was to communicate with the leeches of society, the lowest on the totem pole, the defiler's of the water, the scum of the scum bucket. Yes, you know who I'm talking about. Precisely. I'm talking about those irritating souls riding SeaDoos or jet skis.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Are these noisy machines fun to ride? Yep. Can they go anywhere? Just about. Are they fast? Of course. When it is not you out there on the water but others who are riding them, is the noise maddening, infuriating and just irritating enough that you want to go choke the life out of those driving them? Most definitely. With our device, you can rid yourself of those pesky little waterborne dwarfs and avoid the jail sentence associated with whacking them. A water balloon launched directly into the head, chest, groin or butt area will have them seeking other environments in short order, leaving you at peace with the world. If it is your own offspring out there on the watersquirting devices, the same water balloon launched at a more sedate velocity will get their attention and then you can yell at them that lunch is ready, that it is time for their nap, that there is a shark directly behind them about to eat them, that there is a waterspout headed your way, or that they need to drive across the lake and get you some more beer. Using our device, the ways of communicating are many, the messages you wish to send infinite.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJw3cGENb5DkKwPU0hhN4DkdRV3nPk48B6GaS85XZKfvUFMQEf76q1IGT7M8VkXl59YcWF_-z_JBETqkRkUmw58Gyj2VbSMfcQySswnJMfgf6ibYgmrP1gyRDN9RPh_Ynsv5bc06wSzHLC/s1600/DSCN1470.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJw3cGENb5DkKwPU0hhN4DkdRV3nPk48B6GaS85XZKfvUFMQEf76q1IGT7M8VkXl59YcWF_-z_JBETqkRkUmw58Gyj2VbSMfcQySswnJMfgf6ibYgmrP1gyRDN9RPh_Ynsv5bc06wSzHLC/s320/DSCN1470.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Do you know who this is? I hope that somebody does , because we don't. Not for sure, anyway. We found him alongside the road or in a dumpster or in a parking lot or something and we decided to call him Pedro. Even the lowliest peon like Pedro can be trained to use our communicator in the appropriate fashion . </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdAuJa_1JMwTYtw6Azf10CeQNlKIXp18e4Fd-kRIY2F0uYfZPDzIozbk2MIseAzIRzQ0OlIRC2IHt2sC3hYbNRveCmIHvBGaLZ_bm5NdP6RSypleMgEpVa9QwB9D-TQOhMitDkYbRrnHMZ/s1600/DSCN1471.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdAuJa_1JMwTYtw6Azf10CeQNlKIXp18e4Fd-kRIY2F0uYfZPDzIozbk2MIseAzIRzQ0OlIRC2IHt2sC3hYbNRveCmIHvBGaLZ_bm5NdP6RSypleMgEpVa9QwB9D-TQOhMitDkYbRrnHMZ/s320/DSCN1471.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
See? Although he possesses a limited knowledge of the English language and gets his point across mostly through a complex combination of sign language, grunts and farts, Pedro is eager to communicate with others. He displays a natural affinity for our device and is able to spread his message with ease. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, now that you are aware of all the possibilities and all of the good that can come from effective communicating, you are eager to construct your own communication device, aren't you? And you are eager to know just how we went about it, are you not? All right, at the risk of violating our national security, I will tell you the secret to our device, the brain that controls our invention. The secret ingredient to our device is a water balloon slingshot. The one that we are using is designed to be used by three people, one on each side holding it and the third person pulling back on it to launch the balloons. That is a much too complicated process and a complete waste of manpower. There simply had to be a better way. So we persuaded a nearby tree to donate a giant sling shot, used hose clamps to fasten it in a vertical position onto a piece of angle iron that is welded onto the framework surrounding a large chunk of concrete, and now we have a water balloon launcher that requires only one person to operate. That leaves more little kidlets free so that they can be out in the water swimming or riding jet skis, having fun and providing targets of opportunity at the same time. That is what I call a win-win situation. </div>

<br />
I just wanted to give an update of a couple of projects that we have already done. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is the latest picture of our little eight-foot John boat. It still floats well and doesn't leak a drop. With one person sitting in the middle seat, it is a bit nose heavy but if you have a couple of people in it, even with the trolling motor and heavy battery, it evens out nicely.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
And here are the speaker boxes that we made for our pontoon boat , sitting on the dash of the boat just the way God intended. I don't think they look bad, and they sound all right for cheap speakers.<br />
<br />
That is all the updates for now.<br />

At the Lake a couple of weeks ago we had a new toy to play with. North American Arms makes an entire line of mini revolvers, most of them chambered for the 22 long rifle or the 22 magnum cartridges. The one that we are dealing with is called The Sheriff. Here it is below.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuVZojb0sCRlOBGHfwScaZ08svcDjfZL4G3C0dstmSr1mu3DCzx2fQ8SJYkzjbtbO8vfQBDwIes6UeIP7ZtbLauf4k7k0KwUZfdGIA5t7tGxO1A5iqWTbP0cp0UFmpTUAs7a6Yffa9bE-i/s1600/DSCN1355.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuVZojb0sCRlOBGHfwScaZ08svcDjfZL4G3C0dstmSr1mu3DCzx2fQ8SJYkzjbtbO8vfQBDwIes6UeIP7ZtbLauf4k7k0KwUZfdGIA5t7tGxO1A5iqWTbP0cp0UFmpTUAs7a6Yffa9bE-i/s320/DSCN1355.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
As you can see, it is a pistol. And it is of the small variety. How small? Well, the barrel is 2 1/2 inches long. It is 6 1/4 inches long overall, and it is 3 1/8 inches tall.Um, okay, you say, that sounds rather small. But really, how small is that? What can it be compared to?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8Uzi1_z27rKKW-ht7qsKdOAY-j3oUxNDBws8cty7C6QzGQPzwGXSEaGMWmjlT2TNrFS7NQhifPGQjMJIippMlHM0xQmneet864tBC1hEU08jd2D65aejIUId8aZc2Npprxm1oNbXBQQpa/s1600/DSCN1356.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8Uzi1_z27rKKW-ht7qsKdOAY-j3oUxNDBws8cty7C6QzGQPzwGXSEaGMWmjlT2TNrFS7NQhifPGQjMJIippMlHM0xQmneet864tBC1hEU08jd2D65aejIUId8aZc2Npprxm1oNbXBQQpa/s320/DSCN1356.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
How about this? Let's compare it to a BIC lighter. Okay, let's.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
All right. Now you know how small it is. Let me finish telling you about it. It is a 5 shot, single action revolver. This means that you must cock the hammer back each time before you pull the trigger. Contrary to what some congressmen and lots of news personalities would tell you, it is not considered an assault weapon. It does not hold enough "bullets" in its "high-capacity ammunition clip bullet magazine thingy"as they would say. Being a 5 shot, it only holds 5 rounds of ammunition. And I don't believe that I have ever seen a terrorist using one of these. It weighs 7.3 ounces. That means that it is pretty light.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
All right., now that we know that it is a small weapon, maybe it is too small.. Is it even big enough to be able to hold in your hand ?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWCvCymerQ5Dck6-JA51M638v1W665dnFGU4C62CMXLJEnfQpXXCjo2w_KjTnzSjhMalYG35QqI6FNmk9H09vZlkT-BsGBGwKDXLuk_voDtKkl2Z9SV2dZCQTHM_UJNv0qi-Xct0Nc24ra/s1600/DSCN1374.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWCvCymerQ5Dck6-JA51M638v1W665dnFGU4C62CMXLJEnfQpXXCjo2w_KjTnzSjhMalYG35QqI6FNmk9H09vZlkT-BsGBGwKDXLuk_voDtKkl2Z9SV2dZCQTHM_UJNv0qi-Xct0Nc24ra/s320/DSCN1374.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here it is, in nephew's hand. Nephew is 6 feet 1and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He would probably be considered to have a large hand.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQIR5a3kNRSXoPZkbZ96EeAkn5qCFI8yFI-QxtClFzLy3VAlvWFJgrvzqMmdibYhQOd3avBcn71MTB7DHsnUmmR8ygeQByNVVGj1A2xMdI7dlNe7UC2ftEF3WHUyytN2TvNwPiUK20keYz/s1600/DSCN1362.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQIR5a3kNRSXoPZkbZ96EeAkn5qCFI8yFI-QxtClFzLy3VAlvWFJgrvzqMmdibYhQOd3avBcn71MTB7DHsnUmmR8ygeQByNVVGj1A2xMdI7dlNe7UC2ftEF3WHUyytN2TvNwPiUK20keYz/s320/DSCN1362.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
But as you can see, it actually fits in his hand pretty well. . He is able to get a good grip on it. Besides that, it is a 22. There won't be much recoil.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It comes in a hard plastic storage case and you can even padlock it closed. If you want to. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgef36C1SLbBZPEnMsnF7ghZoQr9P3dTf4p71uFmIm1d9OsKQ1XTyNGS-D4mJZAAzNyOGTjr3dueDzkvCTdW73auj4k_RT9wMJVuVhl00KXel_VLtd7LdxTofCfPWbRJfPZb6xWzt8BC8RM/s1600/DSCN1385.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgef36C1SLbBZPEnMsnF7ghZoQr9P3dTf4p71uFmIm1d9OsKQ1XTyNGS-D4mJZAAzNyOGTjr3dueDzkvCTdW73auj4k_RT9wMJVuVhl00KXel_VLtd7LdxTofCfPWbRJfPZb6xWzt8BC8RM/s320/DSCN1385.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The pistol that we were shooting had the 22 long rifle cylinder installed , but it also came with an extra . 22 magnum cylinder. We did not try any magnum loads in it. Here the magnum cylinder is wrapped up in some type of plastic protective wrap and there is some extra room in the case to put other things. If you wish. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2R0pkdc1qJwk0yVUkpW8HRhByGzAMh6UwnoPGilTZ-uMQE3xghkWB2Yj8PJ_3fV7WUlnORyhCTABNrk2sgU_gfDQGyilS341um7B9fzzNw7F-s4Kd-OFnGQwgzKOse3nN5m-qO5vxtrzi/s1600/DSCN1367.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2R0pkdc1qJwk0yVUkpW8HRhByGzAMh6UwnoPGilTZ-uMQE3xghkWB2Yj8PJ_3fV7WUlnORyhCTABNrk2sgU_gfDQGyilS341um7B9fzzNw7F-s4Kd-OFnGQwgzKOse3nN5m-qO5vxtrzi/s320/DSCN1367.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is another shot showing the size comparison to a 12gauge shell. This is how you take it apart to load or unload it. Push the button on the cylinder pin and slide it all the way out to the front. Remove the cylinder, stuff in 5 cartridges , put the cylinder back in and slide the cylinder pin all the way back until it locks in the place. Then you are ready to shoot. After you have shot, remove the cylinder pin and the cylinder,use the cylinder pin to poke out the empties from the chambers ,then reload and you are ready to fire again. It takes longer to explain it than it does to actually do it. After you have done it a few times, a person can probably accomplish a reload pretty quickly. Nephew can fire 5 shots, reload and be ready to fire 5 more shots in 35 seconds.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Okay, so how well does it shoot? Does it produce marvelously tiny little groups at extreme yardages ?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The answer to that is - I don't know. Groups are out of season where I live, consequently nobody shot any groups.They shot cans. They shot boxes. They shot marshmallows. They shot a tarantula. The sights are not what you would find on a target pistol, it was not designed as a target pistol, so it probably does not shoot as well as a target pistol . There is a groove along the top strap to look down and the front sight is a post at the end of the barrel. It is not the best set up in the world ,but it is certainly not the worst either. . It seemed to work fairly well for the Colt peacemaker and countless other handguns down through the years.. I can tell you that aluminum cans at 20 feet are pretty easy targets. And after he fired a few cylinders full of ammunition and had gotten a little used to the trigger, nephew was able to use a rest and solid two-handed hold and put 4 out of 5 shots on something the size of a stop sign at 45 yards. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
. What about velocity? Well, I am fairly certain that the bullets exit the barrel with some velocity. We have no chronograph, so there was no way for us to measure the velocity.. Most of these tiny revolvers have shorter barrels and there is not really that much to be gained by using the 22 magnum cylinder instead of 22 long rifle.Since the barrel on this one is longer, there is likely to be an appreciable difference and if I were going to use it for self-defense against people, I would definitely be using magnum ammo. A side benefit would also be a bigger fireball from the barrel, more likely to scare someone off . </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What is to like about this gun? It is small. It is light. The octagon barrel is cool. It resembles an old cap And ball revolver. The machine work is well done and it is nicely polished. There are precise, solid clicky noises when you pull the hammer back and the cylinder locks up tightly with no play. It is a well built, solid little shooter. We put over 200 rounds through it over the weekend and there were no malfunctions, nor did I expect any. And it is handy, you can always have it in your pocket and it is so light that you may forget that it is in there. In all, 6 different people handled and shot the little weapon and their 1st comments upon laying eyes on it ranged from "Hey cool" to "Aw, it's so cute." Nobody didn't like the way it looked or shot.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What is not to like about this gun? The trigger is a bit heavy. It is slow to reload. The sights are adequate, but not wonderful. It is a 22, therefore it will not stop a charging grizzly with one shot. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Who might want one of these? Lots of people. I see it as a good choice for anyone that could use a small, lightweight pistol. Ranchers, farmers, hikers, campers, fishermen, , even joggers. If the first 2 chambers were loaded with shot shells for snake busting and the rest of the chambers were loaded with solid or hollow point ammo, I would feel perfectly safe roaming the woods with it. Rabid foxes, raccoons, skunks or dogs would be no problem for it. It is certainly not the best choice for self-defense against 2 legged vermin, but it is better than using a stick or a rock. And it is small enough, light, enough and handy enough that you can always have it on you. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
To sum it all up, I think is a neat and useful little gun. </div>

<br />
<object height="1" id="plugin0" style="position: absolute; z-index: 1000;" type="application/x-dgnria" width="1"><param name="tabId" value="{46D9310F-0BA8-4DB2-A738-D398C743BEFB}" /></object>My father has a Ford diesel tractor that he loves to play around on. He also has a bad knee on his left side that precludes him from playing around on it as much as he would like. And it has been getting worse lately. Could we come up with something that could help him operate that clutch pedal easier, he wondered.<br />
<br />
<br />
Yes we could.<br />
<br />
<br />
And we did.<br />
<br />
<br />
It is not pretty. It is not high tech. It is not precision built to the tolerances of a fine Swiss watch.<br />
<br />
<br />
But it does work.. This is what we did-<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6zQR7m07okXcbyWjr4D3nG741X3zHXpH_gbE6dKb1RG9U-oFcyxqg8YefwTLOo4yJOg0JX-xHFAsOELjVw2IA7OQElQO7Qw-3eHjNqwZM8jjB1x2-R_ptTOWPOxCAeVYRyYkoUn5k09mP/s1600/DSCN1300.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6zQR7m07okXcbyWjr4D3nG741X3zHXpH_gbE6dKb1RG9U-oFcyxqg8YefwTLOo4yJOg0JX-xHFAsOELjVw2IA7OQElQO7Qw-3eHjNqwZM8jjB1x2-R_ptTOWPOxCAeVYRyYkoUn5k09mP/s320/DSCN1300.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Here we have a close-up of the clutch pedal on the aforementioned Ford tractor. <br />
It is just a clutch pedal, much the same as any other clutch pedal. Except for one thing. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Do you see that round little knob just below the pedal itself.? <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjolPydrrjGUnUgZSSPjiiSfGp8ihC-lBFBQJukpowJvF4eb2HxjJuNYgZweDnTXF2MP-0TPsNMFK8dXS2J4FuUKkUrTD7FeAEcRUvon-6c8nKijahpqUYcySqRLHVuMuFGgvK8Wcj8lUrr/s1600/DSCN1301.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjolPydrrjGUnUgZSSPjiiSfGp8ihC-lBFBQJukpowJvF4eb2HxjJuNYgZweDnTXF2MP-0TPsNMFK8dXS2J4FuUKkUrTD7FeAEcRUvon-6c8nKijahpqUYcySqRLHVuMuFGgvK8Wcj8lUrr/s320/DSCN1301.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Here is a view of it from the other side of the tractor. It is just a piece of round steel that we welded on. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhglQphSAWUyZ3KpvZJ6CtlB94F-V06IVwG0EObkox6rbhRrfTRlFeq9WehFFA-rXuduVuI1L5kTtBaHK8-x-lK9Mo_nwnVpJ0WyKhfxW63Vyuspj8mLjDUy5asCWmTs2dVAmTL0nKc53T4/s1600/DSCN1304.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhglQphSAWUyZ3KpvZJ6CtlB94F-V06IVwG0EObkox6rbhRrfTRlFeq9WehFFA-rXuduVuI1L5kTtBaHK8-x-lK9Mo_nwnVpJ0WyKhfxW63Vyuspj8mLjDUy5asCWmTs2dVAmTL0nKc53T4/s320/DSCN1304.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
In this picture you can see that we have a steel pipe that just happens to fit over the round steel knob that is welded to the clutch pedal. . I wouldn't really call it a snug fit, but it is tight enough to keep it from flopping around.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Here is my father demonstrating its operation. In this picture, the clutch pedal is not depressed. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF_BjW4HzT0SE8asUSFgLq8LLu3v3P26h4-MrDKew_k_VCMPnwpOlxn1MxuHNjver-3tFmUtsnxHVuwXK1Hwe9kQdh_O8tjv2zx2cTlxld3ucGwtW1dRV45hDEsg8EGwPSJ_dNU3NDkx3Q/s1600/DSCN1307.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF_BjW4HzT0SE8asUSFgLq8LLu3v3P26h4-MrDKew_k_VCMPnwpOlxn1MxuHNjver-3tFmUtsnxHVuwXK1Hwe9kQdh_O8tjv2zx2cTlxld3ucGwtW1dRV45hDEsg8EGwPSJ_dNU3NDkx3Q/s320/DSCN1307.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
When he wants to operate the clutch, he just pushes forward on the steel pipe and it depresses the clutch pedal. When he wants to release the clutch,. he just lets go of the steel pipe. When he wants to get of the tractor, he just pulls the pipe off and lays it to the side.<br />
<br />
What could be more simple?<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
We did something kinda sort of along the same lines for the clutch pedal on his 1 ton Chevy flatbed truck. . I will post pictures of it when I get them. </div>

Need a flashlight that puts off lots of light? Want it cheap? Do you want it to be built extremely well and last the rest of your natural life?<br />
<br />
Well that's too bad, cause it ain't gonna happen.. The best you can get is two out of three. <br />
<br />
<br />
Just recentlyI stumbled across a flashlight that puts off lots of light and it is cheap. It works well, but I have not used it long enough to speak for its durability.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ4oOGRMXffKkvHuof_-Dlli09KfjgCW-Bbf-OPcJDH69sNwafLzIEp-G96-BIQrSUgXnZAuxSdWr72Ck_IlmmD-8BQ7iyg7L9JMrRS9DW0XK3hszofYhgi8UkeDCeriEEzCSrZZJfOnbW/s1600/DSCN1236.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ4oOGRMXffKkvHuof_-Dlli09KfjgCW-Bbf-OPcJDH69sNwafLzIEp-G96-BIQrSUgXnZAuxSdWr72Ck_IlmmD-8BQ7iyg7L9JMrRS9DW0XK3hszofYhgi8UkeDCeriEEzCSrZZJfOnbW/s320/DSCN1236.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here it is.. It is called a Sipik sk- 68. It features a Cree xr- e q5, or something very close to that. Constructed of aluminum, it only has one mode, supposedly it puts out 260 lmns and it is zoomable, you can adjust it from being a floodlight to a spotlight and it has a handy belt clip. In this picture it is in the floodlight mode. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Standing 8 feet away from the wall, this is what it looks like in flood mode. The circle of light is approximately four feet across. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifXoQmJco5JcdWb6jgD2-9H_8tXZAozgjrpkMicu-dO3BncFy8__c-LPkKMrln87qYsqJpZTYpZ0vBmD4hXGpaL3sy6Eu4lczugs4c9RB-ACzLTnsxKiQZclufzKpXyD66xzO5q5xzbH-3/s1600/DSCN1267.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifXoQmJco5JcdWb6jgD2-9H_8tXZAozgjrpkMicu-dO3BncFy8__c-LPkKMrln87qYsqJpZTYpZ0vBmD4hXGpaL3sy6Eu4lczugs4c9RB-ACzLTnsxKiQZclufzKpXyD66xzO5q5xzbH-3/s320/DSCN1267.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And here it is when you shift it into spotlight mode. At the same 8 foot distance, the concentrated beam of light is probably about a foot across. </div>
<br />
<br />
Now, does this light actually put out 260 lm ? I have no way of knowing because I have no way to measure the light output. But I can tell you this - when you take it outside at night and shine it on objects, it really lights them up. Objects that are 50 yards away, you can see clear as a bell.Things that are 100 yards, you can tell what they are. I was really impressed with this little light. <br />
<br />
It runs on a single AA battery and the specifications say that it lasts two hours. I turned it on and left it and it does put out good light for an hour or so, then it dims noticeably. There is an orange button on the end of it that turns it on and off and it seems to be decently sturdy. As I already said, there is only one mode, it is either off or it is on. There is no clicking through a half-dozen different modes to get to the one that you want. As to the particulars about what is found inside and how well it is put together, I do not know. I am not that much of a flashlight nerd. I was impressed enough that I ordered another one, and then I ordered two more off of eBay that are clones of this light. Supposedly they put out 300 lm , they have a high, low and a strobe mode, and they were only $5.99. They work well also. These lights do come from China but for the price, I was highly impressed with them. </div>

<br />
<object height="1" id="plugin0" style="position: absolute; z-index: 1000;" type="application/x-dgnria" width="1"><param name="tabId" value="{2710038C-D72F-4DA8-9B22-203B045B4C63}" /></object>Buddy burner, hobo stove, pocket heater, giant candle, these things are known by all kinds of names. They are easy to make and they are quite effective at providing light, heat, and a cheerful atmosphere around your camp. I don't know if you can use them at campgrounds where there are no open flames allowed, but they're very useful for warming up a can of beans or boiling a pan of water without having to build a fire. Here's how you make one.<br />
<br />
Procure a can. A fairly short can will work the best, we used a can of crushed pineapple.<br />
<br />
Step two. Empty your can. I hope that this is pretty self explanatory.<br />
<br />
Step three. Cut some cardboard strips that are pretty much the same height as your can. We used the lid of a cardboard box to cut our strips from and we needed three strips.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXROqWRJM5MrYRJA57eno-BaY-aWIFkh2IAd20VTF-_HJs3nTkiE7rf87_wO67FYkCtuIse0M2rAUifqknSyZZX2lRUyD5ewYgFLDTVCqtgxwUCbRo23vPnTAOL6_k3YtxAUI8N5CyuzsF/s1600/DSCN1141.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXROqWRJM5MrYRJA57eno-BaY-aWIFkh2IAd20VTF-_HJs3nTkiE7rf87_wO67FYkCtuIse0M2rAUifqknSyZZX2lRUyD5ewYgFLDTVCqtgxwUCbRo23vPnTAOL6_k3YtxAUI8N5CyuzsF/s320/DSCN1141.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Here you can see our can, the two strips that have already been cut and rolled up inside the can, and the third strip that is in the process of being rolled up and will be inserted directly into the middle of the can. When we finished, it was a fairly tight fit.<br />
<br />
Step four. Roll your cardboard strips up tightly and place them in the can. If you still have room in the can, cut some more strips or partial strips and cram them in wherever possible.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiG7cv8q_JjcJtccGqFQARuTVof7-WYwtW27dK8yrvB_eTRE6WAQm-XTy4Sy7HNFfXtfDjaAoaCB7eZQ8M1NP-UlFGz6IMaislxuRCbUmJw6VtkZhKantmHwLClVJPZN2ms8R0f0mOhQOSH/s1600/DSCN1144.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiG7cv8q_JjcJtccGqFQARuTVof7-WYwtW27dK8yrvB_eTRE6WAQm-XTy4Sy7HNFfXtfDjaAoaCB7eZQ8M1NP-UlFGz6IMaislxuRCbUmJw6VtkZhKantmHwLClVJPZN2ms8R0f0mOhQOSH/s320/DSCN1144.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
See? I told you it was a pretty tight fit.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
Step five. Melt wax. We used a heat gun and a small aluminum foil pan. And wax.<br />
<br />
Step six. Pour wax into can, all the way to the top. It will soak into the cardboard, surround the cardboard and then you have basically a giant candle.<br />

Your wax will shrink some as it cools down. You may have to add some more.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
Step seven. Wait. Then wait some more. The idea is to wait until all of the wax has solidified and the outside of the can has cooled down.<br />
<br />
Step eight. Since you're probably the impatient type and you have picked up the can while the wax is still hot and the outside of the can is still hot, you probably dropped it and made a gigantic mess all over the floor. The rest of step eight will consist of doing your best to clean up your mess before your mother or your wife gets home and sees it. I thought I told you to wait.<br />
<br />
Step nine. If you're still alive after your mother or your wife has seen the mess you created, then this would be the perfect time to show her the masterpiece you created so that she can reform her opinion of you. Light up your creation and stand back and watch as a look of amazement and astonishment crosses her face. You may have to hold it up kind of sideways to light it and keep holding it that way until it gets going good.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here it is in action, outside, on a fairly windy day.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
Step ten. Cook something. Get a couple of rocks and put on each side of your can, put some type of rack over it, or figure out some other way to hold a pan just a little bit higher than your buddy burner. If you set a pan down onto it, then it will simply smother the flames. Insert your ingredients into your pan, warm them up, and you're good to go. Warm up some beans, boil some water to make coffee or ramen noodles or cook up some crystal meth or whatever. When you're done you can either blow it out or you could step across the top of it and smother the flames.<br />
<br />
One of my nephews made one with the pineapple can. My smaller nephew wanted one also, so he cut off the bottom of a Dr. Pepper can and used it. It boiled a cup of water in about 4 minutes.<br />
<br />
I have no idea how long one of these will burn. If you know the answer, then please let me know.<br />
<br />
This is an easy, 10 minute job that anyone should be able to do. Even you.<br />

<br />
That's what this little sucker cost. $5.00. Well, not even that actually. The grand total was $4.98, including shipping. I got it on Ebay and yes, it is made in China. That's the only bad thing about it. Well, another sort of bad thing about it is that it's not overly powerful but I'm going to take care of that by adding some extra rubber bands to make it more powerful. And it's small enough to fit in your back pocket. There's absolutely no reason why every kid in America shouldn't have a slingshot at some point in their life, and this one is small enough to carry around constantly. Just think about it. If every kid in America carried a slingshot and knew how to use it, I wonder how polite they would become? After a few times of being whacked in the butt with a rock, I would think that they would learn some manners. Maybe even adults should carry these around. It would certainly be good for getting rid of unwanted dogs on your property digging in your trash. And it will be good for teaching responsibility and all kinds of other things.<br />
<br />
Got a little kid in your life? Or do you like to act like a child? Get a slingshot. It might be the best $5.00 you'll ever spend. </div>
